Shout out to the west
This entry is dedicated to all our west coast and southwest readers.
That's right, baby! It snowed out here last night! After two weeks of 60 degree weather and sun, it snowed. Sure, it was just a dusting, it was the big wet snow, and sure it will be gone tomorrow when it gets back up into the 60s with sun. But right now we got white stuff. Unbelievable. Good thing I didn't plant the peas yet.
Yikes. I don't think I could handle that....
Posted by: mike, pgg brother at April 24, 2003 09:23 AMI guess that as far as winter weather goes, if you can make it in Minneapolis you can make it anywhere (substiture Jesse Ventura for Frank Sinatra).
Posted by: Geoff at April 24, 2003 09:31 AMDon't tell Lizie (spelling?) that.
Posted by: maryellen at April 24, 2003 10:00 AMIt snowed here in Phoenix, too....
Not.
with so much drama in the lbc it's so hard being snoop d o double g.
GO LAKERS!!!
where the heck are the pictures of Marie?
Posted by: laker fan at April 24, 2003 04:14 PMWho do you like in the West?
I think the Mavs will take it although as a Michigan guy I cheer for Webber and the Kings (despite the shame Chris brought to our program).
As for the Lakers: 1.) I don't go for Phil Jackson's guru/granola garbage and feel that he has always had great players, however.......you can't argue that he always wins (718 - 264 in the regular season and 156 - 54 in the playoffs) - truly amazing.
2.) I actually think Kobe is a higher impact player than Shaq. I had the opportunity to see him in person vs. the Nets last year (not in the Finals, but regular season) and he is impressive. Incredible physical ability and real intensity on the court.
Let's see how it goes.........

Posted by: mike, pgg brother at April 25, 2003 07:45 AMWell, I always thought that you hadn't planted your peas early enough if they didn't get snowed on at least once. They are tough. But your growing season is a whole nother story from the tropical southern regions of Connecticut. So I will wait as see how the crops look in another six weeks...
Nice photos.
