Haying time
It is getting to be time for the dairy farmers to make their first cut of hay. I don't totally understand the process, but I know you need a couple of days of dry weather to get the stuff in. And we have not really had a couple of totally dry days for the past couple of weeks. I am not sure if the guy who hays some of our land will try to do two or three cuts this year, but today is supposed to be sunny and in the 80s, so I suspect it will be a decent drying day.

It seems like less than six weeks ago you had snow on the ground. And now your friend is already harvesting a crop of grass/hay!
For my part, I'm trying to grow ornamental grasses down here on my terrace. It's rained for weeks. The temperature is rising. We've had a few sunny days.
But I go out and stare bleakly at them every day. No growth!! No withering!! No nothing!! They just stare back at me blankly.
The funky little tags on them say they grow from July to October. But that makes no sense to me. Grass is supposed to grow in the spring, go kinda dormant in the hot summer and spring to life again in the fall.
So do I believe the little tags?
Or should I rip them all out and start over??
Patience is not my long suit!
