Lots of work
Peter's been very busy.
The veggies appear to have survived two recent hard frosts. Here's Peter putting on the second covering one of those nights.
Peter power washed out the shed to get ready for it to be a farmstand.
We hired an excavator and a bulldozer to move some big rocks and earth to make room for more greenhouses. Here's before
and after
We got an irrigation system.
awesome

What is your water source? A well? Wells? What size is your supply line(s) and how far do they have to travel?
I have enjoyed watching your farm grow. My wife and I are regular "fans". As soon as school lets out and my teaching duties are reduced, I will begin posting pics on our website. Will have lots of heirloom tomato pics and others to share. Lot's of luck. Its been in the upper 80's here in the Raleigh are the last week and really dry. Thank god for drip irrigation...

Hi Tom,
Lol! The upper 80s!! That must be nice. We are still in the upper 50s and 60s.
Thanks for tuning in.
We irrigate from an old beaver pond that is at the base of a big hill. We need to pump the water out of the pond and up the hill, which is a bit of a challenge. I would say it is about a 400 foot run up the hill with a 60 foot head. We have a heavy duty irrigation pump (a Monarch) hooked up to a 10hp Honda engine. We run three inch pipe up the hill, and then go down to 2 inch for our sprikler run. I guess it is obvious that we use overhead spriklers. The system can cover about 3/4 of an acre at a time, which is fine for now. But someday we may need to make the step up to a PTO driven pump.
Good luck this season!
Wow!
I'm almost overwhelmed by what you all are accomplishing: getting this year's crops in the ground, plus making all these improvements.
You must have had a busy winter doing all this planning!
Good for you.
