Picking potatoes
The new potatoes are in!
We had a great visit with the Providence Griffins this past weekend, including some fun picking potatoes.
Even brand new baby Judy got in on the action, but she knew enough to say no to the papparazzi!
Oh my god, those potatoes! I feel compelled to tell everyone about my amazing dinner:
In a casserole dish I layered Old Shaw Farm tomatoes and summer squash with onion, a little garlic, some fresh herbs and chedder and parmasan cheese. In another baking dish I tossed the OSF new potatoes with some more garlic and herbs and olive oil. I put it all in the oven to roast at 375. I went for a bike ride. I came home, got out the OSF mesclun mix, threw on some pine nuts, got the other goodies out of the oven and had an absolutely perfect summer dinner! You guys are growing some awesome veggies! Oh yes, and Elizabeth's strawberries for dessert...Wow! I wish we could eat like this all year round, but then maybe it wouldn't feel so special.
Thanks Griffins!
